Miss Me But Let Me Go
Author: Anonymous

When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room
Why cry for a soul set free?

Miss me a little-but not too long
And not with your head bowed low
Remember the love that we once shared
Miss me-but let me go

For this is a journey that we all must take
And each must go alone.
It's all part of the Master's plan
A step on the road to home

When you are lonely and sick of heart
Go to the friends we know
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds
Miss me but let me go.

Fight Hard, Grandpa!

This morning my Grandpa went in for a minimally invasive surgery on his bladder, to remove a tumor. We prayed and encouraged him... knowing that recovery would be a struggle at his age, but confident that the surgery was minor enough....

Well, he started "leaking" on the inside shortly after they were finished... And by this evening his abdomen and chest cavity were very distended... Lungs filled with fluid and his breathing very labored! They just rushed him into emergency surgery, to try to get rid of some of the excess fluid, and with hopes of finding the "leak". They promised they would try their best, but pretty much said he'd be on a ventelator in ICU after surgery. So...with his weakend state, we sit here very worried and praying for a miracle!

As I sit here... reflecting... and rambling... I can't help but think of the blessings that we've enjoyed having him here in California! I am so happy for the time we've had for my sweet sweet Grandpa to have the chance to know my husband and son...and them to know him... the memories and holidays shared, making up for all of the ones missed due to distance...all the wisdom imparted, I feel blessed!!

.... but I need you more, we all need you more.. So FIGHT THE FIGHT, Grandpa! I can do nothing else but pray and hope! I love you so much!

Grizzly Game Field Trip

We had such a fun day yesterday!

The private school that Nathan attends (as a sattelite student) did a field trip to our local baseball stadium, to watch a baseball game! Since Nathan LOVES baseball, we were very excited about this!

With thier ticket, the kids got to enjoy a yummy traditional stadium hotdog lunch in the awesome ambiance of the ballpark.. Gotta love stadium food!

These kids were enjoying thier day to the fullest! Every bit of it was exciting.. And Parker!! They screamed themselves hoarse trying to get his attention! And it worked! Parker came to visit them personally!! Made their day!!

I must say, though.. As much as Nathan loves baseball, his sole goal yesterday was to catch a foul ball!! He tried every tactic possible!! Saddly he didn't get one! What's even sadder is the reason why!!

Warning: ranting session starting......

These kids wanted a ball, really BAD! They did everything possible to get the attention of the players and get a ball thrown thier way! But there was this dad that came on the field trip.... SIGH! He was a bully! That's all I can say! These kids would scream their hearts out, successfully get a ball thrown to them, and this creep would use his size and stature to "steal" not 1, not 2, but 3 BALLS from these glove-in-hand, ready, and eager kids!! At one point the ball hit the ground, and all of the kids DOVE into a pile to get that ball.. And this man reached into that pile of kids and took thier ball! Who does that????? We as parents go on field trips to provide wheels, supervision, moral support, and endless trips to the bathroom.... NOT to make it about ourselves or our own GREED! I was fuming! How do you explain that to your son? After the third time, my heart almost broke as he came back to his seat fighting back tears of frustration and downright anger! I didn't blame him! I wanted to cry for him too! I was having to restrain myself from saying something to this guy.. But didn't want to embarrass my son by being "that" parent that caused a fight on the field trip! But he WAS a jerk, and I had to get it off my chest on here! It was just sad!

Needless to say though, it was still a fun day. It was supposed to pour and we prayed alot that the rain would hold off... And God heard our prayers through the 6th inning.. :-P We were grateful it held off that long.. And by that time the kids were wore out and frustrated!! Overall, memories made and life lessons learned! SIGH!

GO GRIZZLEYS!! :-) We look forward to going back, as a family of course.. Where life might be a little more fair!!! :-)
