Amish Friendship Bread

10 days ago a dear lady at church brought some "starters" for Amish Friendship Bread. Funny thing is, I had just been thinking about this bread and noticing that I don't get a chance to take part in these kinds of things anymore, since I don't work a regular J-O-B. So imagine my excitement when I saw her with these starters!! :-)

So it's finally day 10 and Nathan and I excitedly got the recipe out to create more starters and bake bread.. We followed the traditional vanilla/cinnamon recipe and the batter tasted yummy when we licked the bowl.. So as it bakes we have high hopes!

But in the meantime, I had to reflect on the concept of friendship bread.. Why is it called that?? Other than the fact that you need lots of friends to pass it out to.. Or the starters will die...

My thoughts expand... Wa-la!

You have to cultivate it every day!!

Friendship is a gift... and I never want to take my friends for granted! Love you guys!

Oh and PS... I have some starters if anyone wants some!! :-) (couldn't resist)

Yummy Chicken Recipe

I have such a hard time with chicken... I just get grossed out so easy with it! So when I find an awesome way of "disguising" it.. I rejoice! Especially when it's not fried!! :-)

Last night (thanks to e-mealz.com) we found another do-over!! :-)

Here it is:

Crunchy Chicken

1 pkg of Ritz crackers (1 sleeve)
1/2 cup of parmesan cheese (grated)
2 tbs parsley
1.5 tsp bottled minced garlic
Salt and pepper

1)In a food processor, pulse ingredients together until a bread crumb consistency.
2) melt 1 stick of butter and dip 3-4 chicken breasts into the melted butter, then the crumbs
3) place breasts in baking dish, drizzle with remaining butter, and cook at 350 for 1 hour.. Do not turn or disturb

Yum!!

Boring... or Busy?

It's been so long, I feel a little wierd even attempting to start up again. Why the long absence? Probably an accumulation of several things...

1) Facebook.... LOL!! Boy is it so much easier to just post a one-liner a couple times a day!! So I guess I could re-title this "Lazy" :-)
2) iPhone... I love this thing! But it's almost all I use now! I so rarely actually get on the computer.. And only just recently found an app that really works for blogging! (thus the new attempt at starting up again) Plus.. I am the type that's inspired to post when I read all of your posts... Which means I had to search for a good "reader app" too... :-)
3) Life is super busy
4) What to share? What details are boring and what details are juicy? I have always found that hard to judge! So with these 2 great new apps, I pledge to learn from you and try harder to post more frequently!

Yea! So here we go......
